For the sake of clarity, based on my post above of the email from Option-O, this appears to be a relacement for the P100, with the same 98mm burr set but also with the option of an additional or alternative burr set, yet to be identified.

It's a big grinder (see pic below comparing footprint to a Niche Duo which is a large grinder.)

Depending on price, previous model P100s may depreciate or appreciate in value.

Maybe the 120mm is not a burr set but rather the diameter of the chamber that 98mm burrs sit in.

I'm trying to understand the need for such a grinder to be able to switch between 98mm and 102mm.

An ioniser would be handy, seems like it should be a default feature on end game grinders! Wait and see what it is I guess.

i just found it interesting as the letter posted earlier says same 98mm burrs but more choices and now this.
I just love the whole lets guess what they may be doing.

It could be the opening where beans are fed is bigger or where the burrs are mounted is larger?

Rumour has it, it will have an ioniser also

That doesn’t seem particularly efficient to have two slightly different, but not the same, burr sizes… I wonder why they’re making a slight change? I wonder what else will be involved?

ah so it's 'just' an updated P100 with a few new features and maybe extra burr sets rather than a totally new grinder profile.... still want it

Fohral, easier and cheaper to just swap the burrs around Still best of both worlds

amberale sure is and only a month old and will come with the mizen and ssp silver knight MP burrs

    JohnA Is your P64 black?

Maybe you need two JohnA - one for brew, one for espresso. That’s the only way to know whether the P100 has been outclassed… “You” would have the best coffee bar around

I'm excited by this..ill still keep my current p100 and grab this when available with brew burrs and sell the p64

I think it's great that Lagom and giving people who have ordered the P100 to option (unavoidable pun sorry) to wait for the new grinder.

jasiano i think having both would be brilliant. The 98mm P100 with ULF burrs for filter and this new beast for espresso or the other way around...

Either way win win i think...You may even start seeing a few P100 come up second hand, can always grab one as people upgrade to this

yeah I was so close to pulling the trigger on the P100 but now I"m just hanging out for this one. Even the PF stand is appealing to me
98mm conical would be insane... surely not...
Working...
