  • Gene Cafe cutout problem

    Hi,

wondering if anyone has seen/had a problem with a gene where it displays "E" and shuts down. It has recently done it a few times usually when on the cooling
cycle (and after 2 or 3  sequential roasts), once (or twice) did it during the roast.
Any ideas what I should check/do with it, thought there might be chaff stuck near a sensor
or something so looking for advice if I should simply clean it out or take it back for repair.
Its still under warranty but if its just a matter of cleaning then maybe I can just do that once
I find out how/if it can come apart, so if anyone has advice please let me know

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Coughy,

Suggest you email site sponsors GoBarista or Avacuppa. Theyre the two Australian importers. Serge is the GoBarista contact and original importer and more recently Rubina or Ronald at Avacuppa are bringing them in as well. I am sure that any will be only too happy to help.

      Re: Gene Cafe cutout problem

      Hi Coughy,

Yep one of our Genes has done that as well, fortunately the fault was picked up in our pre-delivery torture-testing rather than after it had been shipped to the customer. Serge from Go Barista has our unit at the moment and has been very helpful in identifying and working on rectifying the fault. From what I understand its more than a simple matter of talking nicely to it, you need to remove screws and so on which would probably void your warranty, so Id recommend getting back on to whoevers the importer (and thus warranty honourer). Im guessing thius could be Go Barista or Avacuppa depending who you bought it from and when.

        Thanks guys,

Yeah I prob should take it back but didnt want to be without it for (?????)
however long it takes to get it fixed.

Actually we got it from Coffee Barun so I dont know where it came from,
will have to find out from Mark or wait to BB pickup and take it there maybe.

        Thanks.
