    Springbok,

Yep, I use it on every one of my roasts - and every time I check your roasters prior to dispatch!

You may have noticed that the bean chute cover is still taped into the foam (with the factory supplied tape) when you received your roaster.... that isnt because Im a magician and can magically replace the cover without any sign of tampering - it is as a result of me using my modified bean chute cover on your machine.

It requires several holes (one elongated into a slot) in the quite hard stainless steel the cover is constructed from..... and the insertion of a long (longer than is supplied as standard with the meter) temperature probe down through the holes and into the bottom of the machine just above the drum....

There are instructions on the internet for this mod... but it isnt easy and needs to be very precisely done or you can foul your drum - stalling the motor and possibly doing damage that wont be covered by your warranty.

There is another method requiring almost complete disassembly of the HT - where the probe is inserted through the rear wall..... a much better idea.... but any HTs returned for warranty repairs (with this hole in the rear wall) wont be covered by your warranty due to the amount of disassembly you would have done....

The best bet would be to wait out the warranty period before modifying your HT..... however the installation of the probe is a great idea (Ive had mine in place for a couple of years now).

    QM1538 DMM Roast Profile Software

    Hi All,

have just acquired a Hottop - has anyone used the Roast Profile Software designed for the QM1538 on a Hottop?

If so where and how do you insert the temp probe?

    Thanks,
Working...
