If you dont know what youre doing, sure.  Otherwise its a very straightforward job.  Just have it unplugged while its open.  Pics of mine, and a schematic for anyone willing to try (insert cliché disclaimer here)
Regardless of how straight forward you and every other person who perform mods to electrical goods are in breach of any number of Federal and state acts and legestative requirements.

Many people think they know what they are doing... Yet do not... However your words imply it ok...

Fine... mod all ya want if it is ELV (google it) if it is LV or higher... Then there are issues... Either way... ELV or LV.. Your breaking the law if you plug it into the grid with out being tested and tagged by a licenced contractor...

Yea I know... Piss off I can do what I want... Well if your e-mail (now on public record) is used as a reason as to why some one did what they did OR if you get hurt... The facts are out there...

As to any so called disclamer... Your duty of care over rides that fact... and is null in void, if your not a qualified contractor...

Actually - CS may be well advised to state that they do not support or condone any modifications not carried out by licenced / qualified persons.. Or a half smart legal team might suggest that by saying nothing... CS is / could be held partly to blame...

It is a fact of life today. Every one want to blame another for the fact that they are in the Darwin awards... Just ashame that the laws of darwin take so long to propgate.

I agree with Wsully 240 is DEATH if you make a mistake

inside your BM will look a bit like this
I removed the power control board
    rewired the wires
    keeping the black cap
I did not have a switch when i did this but now i do

another idea would be to take it apart so the sparky could just cut the wires and screw them in the right spots and your away. if you have a switch take it with you.

then you just put the top back on, 3 min job if the BM looks like this

    BE SAFE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its pretty easy, did it on my Sunbeam.  Strip out all the electronics, and find the wires going to the motor.  There will be three wires from the motor, one of which links through a capacitor.  You need the capacitor.

The other two wires you will need to connect straight to the AC power (neutral and active).
One wire probably runs straight into the neutral (blue) wire from the cord.  Leave this.

The other wire runs to the electronics, and there will also be an active (brown) wire from the cord connected to the electronics.  You just need to join these wires directly together, bypassing the electronics - the best way to do this is plug them both into a switch that has spade terminals on it  (on my Sunbeam, they just plugged straight into a suitable switch, no need to even cut a wire).

Cut any remaining wires that went to the electronics (which you should have removed) and tape any bare ends so they cant short out.

    mount the switch somewhere suitable.
    [/highlight]
You need a safety warning inserted here!, AC WILL KILL YOU, IF YOU DONT HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH ELECTRICS, DONT DO IT, ITS NOT WORTH DYING FOR, BE SMART, GET A SPARKY TO DO IT OR LOOK OVER IT BEFORE YOU PLUG ANYTHING IN!

My bb200(?? should be that model) was done this morning by my friend who is a qualified electrician. I have got a few inside pics of the BM, let me know , if you need. But I suggest you would get a qualified person to do it, if you dont have enough experience of electric.

A lot of CSers have done the bypass on their machines Callum, I have a cycle on my machine that runs for 20mins so I havent needed to mod it (yet)
Have you got a thermocouple of your birthday/xmas wish list???

    Modding a breville bb200

Hey there, Ive set up my Corretto only recently and so far Ive only done a kilo of beans. However my breadmaker only runs for a max of 10 minutes before it goes into a rest phase. Im thinking the easiest thing to do is bypass all the circuits, and install a switch and just run the motor directly. Im thinking of giving it a go, but Im not sure where to start. Just wondering if anyone knows how I could mod the breadmaker?
Working...
