Pwade hows the crazy popper going and ur roasting??

For what its worth (although also about 4 months late on this post ) I have a black & decker popped which has run through 20kg of beans and still going strong!! Combine it with a 1/2 can of soup as a chimney and I can roast up to 130gm per roast. Brilliant little machine and never missed a beat!!

Good luck and enjoy ur roasting journey!!

    RE: chimney...

I just used tin snips to make 2 1 inch slits up eack side of a baked beans can and slide it into the top of the popper. Not pretty but does what its intended to and didnt cost a cent. PLUS another chimney is only baked beans on tast for dinner away ;D

A tip for you - go to Spoils, Reject Shop or one of the similar $2 style outlets & buy yourself a travel mug for a few bucks. Remove the inner plastic cup so youre left with just the metal case. Youll see that the bottom of the metal case tapers at the bottom & this fits directly into the top of the Crazy Popper. This will provide the chimney extension youll need without the need to cut, modify or tape down a tin. Good luck.

    hey guys,

picked up a crazy popper... pretty excited to get starting on bean roasting experimentation... but unfortunately... holidays, will probably take a while before i get the chance to...

until then, i will read up on some stuff on the beginners guide to get an idea.

    thanks again guys

I agree with the Crazy popper.
It was my first popper and is still alive 2 years down the track. To put that into perspective... my Hottop has to last for aprox 50 years to be as good in the roasts per dollar spent department.

I also have a Tiffany and a black n Decker poppers but the power rating is 200w less than the crazy popper.

AND if your really lucky, youll be able to pick up one of the limited edition Bratz crazy poppers in LE black and purple! lol

but i only did a few roasts in that one and then went to a bread maker....

The best poppers to get for roasting

    Hello,
I was just curious on the best places/stores to get popcorn poppers to use for roasters...

I have seen a few, but i dont want to buy one and realise it has a power cutting mechanism so it wont roast as high as needed... also I dont want one that burns out too soon...

any brand or shop that you know is best to purchase from please let me know... otherwise other alternatives are great! thanks!
Working...
