interesting ramp from 2-3 mins on both roasts! are you steping up the temp here?

No, the agitator goes from a slow pulse to a constant spin at this point - therefore the probe at the beginning is totally submerged by newly introduced beans (insulating it from the heat above). Once the agitator spins faster the probe is introduced to the warm air from the chamber and this remains the case for the remainder of the roast!

Next roast was Brazil - was able to focus more on temp this time and not so laptop centric

Great software and USB Datalogger Andy!

    Thanks WSully!

You annotate second crack a little (1 minute) early - it was actually at 15.7 minutes.

Roast was pulled in first 20 seconds of second.

    Corretto Roast Profile

    Hey all,
This is CS Member "Runfast"s First Corretto roast profile with the CS DMM and datalogger, he emailed me the .csv and i pasted it into intellidepths excel spreadsheet......here are the results, they are mainly for Runfast, but i thought id post it on CS so others can offer advise too

First of all, awesome job! the DMM and Datalogger are amazing tools, and they will introduce a whole new dimension to your roasting!

I found in profiles with the corretto on the DMM and Datalogger.... tended to appear a little lumpy in the curve just like yours, this is i believe to do with the nature of the setup, probe sometimes exposed to hotter direct air as the beans get flung around the pan.

Your climb to FC to me looks good! FC in 12 ish mins @ 194C GREAT!

Your climb from FC to SC appears to be a little fast, with no real noticable change in the profile....try this, as rolling FC hits, lower the temp of the gun or raise it away from the beans slightly to get the temp climb down from 15C/min to about 3C/min to SC, around 5-6 mins from FC to SC is a good starting point.

Otherwise it looks like your having fun and thats what its all about

    Keep it up mate [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Working...
