Forgive me if this question has already been posted previously (couldnt find any related threads).

I am considering roasting raw cashews in my GeneCafe. Has anyone tried roasting nuts with their machine? what were the results?

I normally pan roast mine, watch out as I think from memory the temp for nuts is around 160 degrees instead of the 200+ for coffee. So slow it down I guess.

Ive roasted cocoa beans with success so dont see why it wouldnt work. Hell, just give it a try and I can give you my postal address and let you know how they taste! ;D

Ive roasted almonds in my Corretto with good results, the only problem was the almond oil attracted ants :-/ :-/

Qld nuts (Macadamia), Chestnuts and Peanuts in the Hot Top..

Just had a few issues with teh dump chute ;D getting stuck... For the bigger items...


Next big Italian x-mas party when they want nuts... The KKTO will be used...

I have roasted with great success lots of different raw nuts in my KKTO

One that I still need to try because I have a request to do so is Chestnuts when the AU season starts next year

Nothing better than fresh roasted nuts except fresh roasted coffee   ;D

KKTO can do a chicken, wings and all. If you want nuts as well do a rooster ;D

KKTO can do a chicken, wings and all. If you want nuts as well do a rooster ;D

Gra does Banana bread with walnuts all at teh same time in his TO ;D

Had a go at a batch of cashews on the weekend and was pleasantly surprised. I limited the temp to 150 degrees, 10 minutes from start-up to beginning of cool down cycle.
Nuts turned out great, very happy. The only minor thing was that the nuts released a lot of oil so clean up is a must after every roast.
