Just a question.  I dont roast as yet, however I know that roasting produces chaff, is the Hillbilly popper mod able to separate the chaff from the beans?  couldnt see much chaff in the video though so Im guessing it does.  I think I prefer the look of the hillbilly popper mod to the Jethro 2 mod just purely from the aesthetics mainly due to the wood clamp/jig/holder  in the jethro mod does not allow a 360 deg viewing and not as streamline/compact as the Hillbilly mod.
There is no actual roasting happening in the video, it was just a demo showing the capability to move green beans and roasted beans.

I will be posting a video very soon of an actual roast using the Jethro-2.  The bottle I use does not have a perfect cut along the top and the chaff blows out between the bottle top and the lid.  The video will be posted in the Jethro-2 mod thread.

OK, it works if I just "post the message" after selecting the attachment. Its when I try to preview the post with an attachment that it wont work.

    Good enough for me.

"NOTE: If you had an Attachment in your post, you will need to reselect the Attachment again in the Browser Box for security reasons."

I have no clue what it means to reselect the attachment.
It means to do again what you just did via the Browse box/button.

Use the Attachment "Browse" button (under the post area) to select the image from your computer.

Use the Attachments + button to select up to 5 attachments to a single post.
I thought the Attachment option was for that but after I select a file using the "Browse" box and then preview the post I get this message:

"NOTE: If you had an Attachment in your post, you will need to reselect the Attachment again in the Browser Box for security reasons."

I have no clue what it means to reselect the attachment.

I forgot to ask. Can someone tell me if there is another way to post images without linking to a URL?

    Thanks.

    Re: The Hillbilly popper mod

    The Jethro-2 is complete but....

My apologies for any confusion but I decided to move this to a separate thread for a couple of reasons.

One is that the Jethro-2 is no longer a popper mod since it has little in common with a popper. Two is that for anyone that might be interested in the Jethro-2 may not see it after already reading this thread.

So again I apologize and for anyone interested please see the new Jethro-2 thread.

    Thanks.

Lemoo, putting the pieces together didnt take long, most of the time spent was thinking about how to mate the minivac hose to the popper.  Its just a few plumbing pieces fitted together.

Lol Mtee, that log is a piece of black walnut from a dieing tree that was cut down. Ill eventually use a friend of mines woodshop to do something with it when I decide what that something is.

Phrostyboi - yeah Im basically only using parts of the popper to channel and heat the air. The next model, Jethro-2, will be using even less of the popper. When I post it Im not sure if I should post it here or as a separate thread since it really wont be a true popper mod.  But since this model is Jethro-1 I may just add it to this thread.

I know it all may seem like overkill but I wanted more air and didnt want to (or couldnt) spend the money to fashion a speed controller on a better motor than the little 24Vdc in the popper.

might look like a hillbilly mod but lots of thought put in at the same time
