you will have to come to Beanbay pickup and meet some of the WA crew
Looking forward to it When/where/how often do you have such meetings?
beanbay is once a month and Perth pickup is generally two weeks after beanbay, keep an eye out for beanbay posts and pickup dates in the Beanbay Banter thread. It is held at Caffeinfreaks place, generally on a Sat around 2-3pm!!
Welcome to CS and Perth violine, you will have to come to Beanbay pickup and meet some of the WA crew, its a great way to meeet fellow coffee lovers in a social atmosphere where we road test each others roasts and show off our shiny new toys
Hi everyone. i am new here - to coffeesnobs and to Australia. I moved to WA in August and my cargo container arrived late last week, so I am ready to start roasting with my FreshRoast SR300 (and a 3000W power transformer, yikes!!!!), a Virtuoso grinder and a Presso. I did my research before packing and it was less expensive to bring the roaster and buy a transformer (which I also bought in the US and packed) than to buy a new home roaster here. No snickering about having a massive 10k transformer sitting on my kitchen counter/bench and a manual espresso maker, please. I did bring a few other appliances that seemed to be expensive here - a fuzzy logic rice cooker and an upscale digital slow cooker - so the transformer will get used, but none that use the power that the roaster does.
My problem? I cant find any green beans! I would much rather buy locally to support merchants here in the Perth metro area.
