Kenwood have round bread pans available
Cool! Great for roasting, but what on earth would you do with bread made that shape! I have enough trouble wrapping the kids school lunches as is! ;D

This BM is coffee only. Under my watch itll never be used for bread. I just got some sheet metal from my dad this evening. Although i really like the juice tin idea. Simple and effective. I think i might try that first. I just cant help but think that a round pan would surely yield a more consistent mix.

Hmmm does seem to be a slightly squarer pan than my Breville (BBM100).
You could try cutting a couple of tin cans up and riveting them across the narrow ends to give a rounder curve, but that would require some pop rivet work - depends if you still need the BM for bread! I dont think it would need to be perfectly round - the gentler corners on mine dont cause any hassles - its still quite rectangular.
Or maybe a slightly oversized tin (big juice tin or new mower fuel can) could be slit up one side, and could then be wound up tight then expand back into the pan to find its own position and lock in place - this would also have the advantage of being non-destructive. You could even use a plastic template first (minus heat gun!) such as ice cream lids to test the mixing theory before buying the tin…
I wouldnt mod the paddle - would likely jam. I think the clearance is quite close across the width.
But well worth experimenting with some options and cold beans first before getting out the grinder ;D

Now why didnt breville consider bean mixing when designing these things!

PS Funny story on outside the brief issues - my uncle lives in Hong Kong, and apparently a washing machine manufacturer over in China was getting lots of warranty returns, so they went out investigating. Found out that the local rural client were using their machines to wash their potatoes! But instead of putting in a warning or simply refusing a claim - they put in a potato cycle!

    Heads up BM manufacturers!

    Hi David
What sort of BM are you using? Do you have a pic?
I use a rectangular pan but havent had any mixing issues in the corner - but inserting some sheet metal (maybe cutting down large tin can) into your setup to knock off the corners could help with bean flow…   :-?

started a topic Round Breadmaker Pan

    Round Breadmaker Pan

Hi all, Ive been having issues with my BM that not all the beans are constantly moving - they get stuck in the edges. Ive tried more beans, Ive gone up to 500g, which is all I had from the starter pack. And Ive tried aiming the HG at different spots around the pan to push the beans around. Unfortunately, Im still forced to stir constantly with a wooden spoon.

What Im wondering is if a circular pan would be an effective solution? Obviously I would have to roast smaller batches, but I think this may be a good compromise.

Has anyone else tried this, and what are your experiences? If not, what are your thoughts?

    David.
