Cool... thanks for that. At times the fan would have a crackly sound (as if something was either sucked in through the vents or something came lose).

Grendel, how noisy/\/smooth/\/balanced does the popper operate?

Mine runs with a smooth sound - reasonably high pitched like a CPU fan during online gaming with high graphics settings. I always try to keep the bench clear of bean skins so they dont get sucked through the popper.

I loaded it fairly heavily yesterday doing 150gram roasts, then roasting another 125g right after that. In all I did six roasts in quick succession and the roasting time did diminish after the first roast but the popper seemed to run just fine.

Between roasts I turned it upside down on my new bean cooler to draw some cool air into the popper - figured at the very least that it couldnt hurt.

Im now dreaming up a way to channel the exhaust air from the bean cooler to a perforated MDF sheet-topped box. The popper would stand on that and always have heaps of cool air blowing up from underneath - Im hoping this might slow the roast further and keep the popper happy.

yeh, looks awesome, well done... now... for me to get something similar :-)

My wife just got another Popper for me (Under warrantee - straight swap) so Im interested to see how it goes the second time around..
