Building your own is so bloody satisfying. BBQ would be the go too, but Id already built the 77.
I do 500g batches of green, but I am thinking about adding another heatgun to double the heat! Dunno if itd double the batch, but itd sure kick arse all the same.
But for pure bling - then Framey is the man with the night picks of his gas fired, homemade sample roaster.
But yes - the multiple poppers are looking good. 3 seems to be a good number as you can rotate them and have 2 running all the time but still give each a good cool down by staggering start times.

Ya - Im hitting the capacity wall as well, makes the hottop look interesting - hell, I even emailed about a 1kg sample roaster but $6500 is a bit out of my range at the moment!
Hottop wouldnt do much more than the Crazy Popper considering the vast price diff (Not bagging the hottop as Id love one as well), better off running 2-3 crazy poppers side by side..hmmmm... me thinks a little more about that.... :-)
"And he shall rain down upon you from the heavens, beans of the finest green, and they shall be high grown beans of small estate and thou shalt receive them gladly. Cherish therefore the beans that he hath given you and take them unto the warm places until they darken and swell. At these signs you shall know them ready - first they will rejoice with loud crackings and a heavenly aroma shall arise, then shall they darken and swell. For the lighter roast you may take them now but for the darker roast of great intensity bless the beans with longer heat until they once more rejoice with great crackling and smoking. Then shall you rest, yea and the beans also for a full day and then another. Thus may they be made ready for the drinking thereof."
