Anyone want to hazard a guess at the final prices?

Over here most commercial roasters of that size end up going for thousands of dollars. The roaster that Poundy got would have sold here for well over $5,000US most likely. There is a very high demand for the smaller commercial roasters here in the states and they usually go for a premium price.

With all that said however its quite possible that these roasters may go for a very low price given the sellers poor description and photos as well as it not being a recognized name brand.

Im still curious as to whether or not each drum on it can really roast 2kgs as from the picture of it it appears to be far too small to handle that big a load.

It appears its 2 roasters in the same chassis. The ad states it can do 2: 2kg batches at the same time. Given that, I dont find 300kg all that outragous for weight. It looks like a sampler roaster and Im a bit surprised at the stated 2kg capacity as the drum looks to be not all that much bigger than the 100g sampler roasters Ive seen. Of course its hard to tell with only the one fuzzy picture in the ad and with nothing there to help gauge the size with. Itd be interesting to hear what someone would have to say about it after actually seeing the beastie.

Surely someone should go look at them. Sharkboy has probably already started looking into that.....

    I dont know.
It weighs 350KG and has a 2 KG capacity. Seems like a lot of machine for a little capacity.
Especially when my BBQ drum can do a kilo and weighs in at considerably less than 350KG!!

If I were in the area Id be bidding on them like a madman. If the price doesnt go up Ill be sorely tempted to buy one and have it shipped here.

    I dont think so.

I think that 2 XU1s together would cancel each other out.

If you tape the two XU1s together can you roast faster?

Not knowing anything about this roaster the issues of smoke still exist.

Roasting coffee is a smokey business, the more coffee you roast the more smoke you produce so a 2kg roaster will produce 20 times the smoke of a popcorn machine.

Postage to perth... yeah, I guess 300kg is a lot of stamps!

Id throw a bid or 2 in, but living in Perth, I think 300Kgs of postage might be a little steep?
