Definatly thought about that - got the tape now, so Ill try it first without and check the heat, then try it with the tape.
The heat transfer Im guessing will mostly come from the connection between the pot and the motor, so dispursing heat will be the most important - Im not sure how much radiant heat is coming off the pot?
So if the heat from the contact between motor and pot is higher than the radiant heat coming off the pot, then the tape wont work - so if thats the case Ill use the tape on the bottom of the pot like a heat shield, so at least it will reduce the radiant heat onto the motor.
