Very impressive, Sharkboy, good to look at.

The stainless drum at 3.7 ml thick is rocket-launcher -proof. That raises a potential problem.

As Javaphile said, how do you circulate the hot roasting air through it? If you do not perforate it, youll be baking beans instead of roasting them. In my own drum made from thin sheetmetal, I had to drill 600 holes.

That thickness will also keep heat for some time, so be careful not to touch the drum for quite some time after finishing a roast.

But good luck, and if youve designed to this stage, Im sure youll come up with the answers.

Looking good there sharkboy. How are you planning on circulating the air through the barrel?

Unfortunately I cant take any credit for the fabrication, Im merely the facilitator. I plan, change plans, plan again and then visit my local metal fab guy. I did a lot of drawing... and Ive got some insulation board to install, but no bending or spot welding on my part. I just hand over the $$$
Yet another bit to be added is a flue with a butterfly valve.

You can see where the Polidoro tubular burners sit at the rear. I think I was given natural gas injectors not the LPG as specified.
I seem to be having trouble getting a fitting to adapt the 9mm injector to a standard BBQ LPG gas bottle. Anybody...?
The drum is a section of stainless steel pipe approx 220mm OD, 210mm long and 3.76mm thick. Vanes are still a work in progress.
Sorry about the slight blurring of the photos. I really should have waited until I had some daylight.

Just a couple of photos of the roaster Im working on. Just the drum and roaster shell. The burners are yet to be hooked up and the motor is on the way from the USA... hey that rhymes

Any bushing experts out there? I need something that will take the heat.

Working...
