Hemm! I dont like the fluid bed roasters, too hot too quick roast, I prefer the traditional drum roaster.

I am looking at buying a 1kg bench top roaster, what is the average price bracket. what types of roasters are available? any help would be great.

It kind of makes a difference what you plan to use it for, how much do you need to roast a day, week, home or commercial, quality of roast needed, etc.

Hi konga and welcome to CoffeeSnobs,

As has been said above - 1Kg roasters are VERY expensive and only a practical purchase if setting up a small business.

For home use most of us make our own.... The Corretto can do close to 1KG... easily does 600grams - and there are several other designs for home roasters.....

For a cafe to roast their own beans - these wouldnt be practical..... but neither is the cost of a commercial roaster for home use.
