    Re: 1kg Roaster prices

Go Barista- it may look dark- 8-)
but it just came into second crack.
I can adjust the system perfectly for a light roast too.
I think the idea is a serious go-er for people thinking forward to needing a big roaster- they can build up a customer base and then when the $ are rolling in they can purchase a REAL roaster...
    Good fun though.
Im wondering how I can work out a nitrogen cooling system for under 10 bucks~
    RH :-?

          Hiya Rayzurhed,

I noticed you switched off the HG immediately once the beans were at SC - must be a sturdy HG (or youve got a Nitrogen Cooling System on it already   ;D)

            Actually thats a good point....

Another thing, running 2 x 2000watt guns - running on 2 seperate circuits? or 1 in each PPoint?

              Yeah- 2 power points ;D
Am I supposed to cool them down somehow before turning them off?
They have a thermal overload system that means I cant roast again for half hour or so.
You can see the metal extensions Ive jammed on the ends- that is to keep the motors away from the chaff... they were getting clogged up a bit.

                rayzurhed,

A fan blowing over the top of the roaster (and onto the heatgun) keeps the chaff away and helps cool the HG in operation....

When finished reduce the HG output to the minimum setting but leave its fan running.... which cools down the heatgun.... and you can do back to back roasts.

If you run it so the thermal overload cuts in after each roast, the life of the HG will be reduced.

yes, JavaB is spot on... I reduce the GMC Platinum to minium heat at the completion of the roast, leave the high fan setting on.. and this brings the HG temp down... then I drop the fan speed, then turn it off. Works great for me ..leaving the larger fan blowing on the HG to cool further

I have another HG as fail over

RH, building a customer base is exactly what Im doing ... also priced some larger roasters from Serge.. now I need to budget (SAVE) for it...
