Second that! (as long as I stay away from that pic of the David Makin Signature Ive been drooling over :P

Ajay, does it just happen to work with the 500W on flat-out, or is there a way to tailor the profile at all?

Thanks Sammus. I like the steady gradient of the profile. I think this is because actual bean temp is being measured by the thermocouple, not air temp.

        cheers

Hi Simone, it is definitely a triumph of function over form.

There are two 500w lights, one of which is on an Ikea inline dimmer ("Dimma" is the product name), so I can vary the power down. 500g is about the max for this breadmaker, but if I want a faster roast I can use less beans.

          cheers

Aha, that makes more sense -- very neat 8-)

And after many months of use, how has your BM stood up to being cooked from above? (I ask because we still use ours to make bread, so all coffee roasting mods have to be "low-impact"/non-destructive ;D )

It really is looking pretty good. No warping or anything so it still all fits together and whizzes around as intended. Beeping noises and LEDs all still doing their stuff. If it werent for the thermocouple hole, I reckon I could pop the lid back on and knock up a coffee loaf tomorrow

              cheers
