      Second one looks a lot like the first one with a swanky case and the control unit. Look closely and the internal drum is the same and with a little stretch of the imagination the motor unit probably is too.

        Re: Anyone seen these roasters?

        Judging from the description for the second unit they appear to be more and more similar/identical in basic operation

        Detailed Product Description

        Same even down to the spelling anomalies.

          From descriptions i read on the first unit, it may not have its own heat source.... as it says it can be used with gas or electric and talks more about the motor.

            Well!! I know  now why the Chinese coffee market is increasing by 15% a year,

            One billion four hundred million people x 15% / year =   :-/ :

            Well done China

              I received a price for the roaster in the first pic.  It costs USD26.00 - not 126.....26!

                Re: Anyone seen these roasters?

                Sounds about right all it has is a low powered electric motor a couple of gears and some steel work. With a potential landed retail sell price of around $100 AUD they would have a certain market. Anyone with a wok burner on their BBQ or even a small portable BBQ would have the makings of a good priced roaster.

                At that price providing you stay under the $1000 GST/import duty limit a few of us might be interested in getting one for a play but they will still have the electrical complience issue if you sell them commercially.

                  Re: Anyone seen these roasters?

                  Found this whilst looking... it works out pretty cheap and apparently does 750g lots. no idea what it does with the chaff or whether it works well. Am considering trying to grab one. Anyone seen anything like it?

                  Product descriptions:

                     * Roasts 750grams of Coffee at a time,
                     * Unique Thermostat for Roasting the Coffee according to your taste,
                     * Easy Handling design,
                     * Toughened Glass Lid,
                     * Control Switch for easy operating,
                     * Cool Touch body.

                  apparently has CE approval so getting australian approval for them probably wouldnt be too hard... but the quantities for a full order would be pretty high...

                  interesting though anyway.

                      thats all there is to tell... theres about 10 or so chinese companies on the export sites seeming to sell exactly that...

                      im considering ordering one as a sample, minimum order quantites according to the supplier would be 300 units...

                      for a sample, they want US$18 + US$80 delivery...

                      im on the fence about it at the moment... i suspect a coretto will still do a better job...

                          Raphec

                          It looks like a copy of the Stir Crazy popper (or at least the design)
                          The Chinese just gave it another name
                          I have seen them on the Chinese manufacturing sites
