Wheres the graphic analyzing in which countries the men wear tiny speedos for swimming?
I dont know too many people that wear "budgie smuglers" in daylight.. most go for "boardies".
How off topic can we get!!!
I love the maps of metric and power though Beanflying, its interesting to see them like that.
The other thing that wasn’t mentioned in the thread is that importing and electrical appliance without getting local Australian Standards testing will prob mean that when you get electrocuted and your house burns down you forfeit your life insurance and your house insurer won’t pay.
Be really careful using any appliance without Australian approvals. While locally sold items might cost more as least some of that would be for the testing and standards requirements.

Glynn,
Getting back to your initial post, you should note that neither the Hottop or the Gene Cafe will roast 500g. If batch size is particularly important to you, youll need a corretto (bread-maker plus heatgun combination).
I should correct this to say neither the hottop or the gene ARE DESIGNED to roast 500g. I recently completed a 500g test roast in a Hottop (http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1226661811) however I wouldnt recommend taking either of these devices to 200% of their capacity on a regular basis as youre sure to not only void warranty but shorten the lifespan of the unit.
