  • BBQ Coffee Roaster - Build one for a numpty

    Hi there,

Firstly thanks to all involved for making and contributing to this wonderful site!

I have a novel idea on how to stimulate the economy.

I would like someone from this site to build me a coffee roaster BBQ (rotiserie type) so I can roast my own coffee.

But alas I am a complete numpty when it comes to building anything.

So I propose that I will gladly pay a skilled artisan to commision a BBQ coffee roaster for me.

I have a BBQ Galore 4 burner model BBQ - size and specs can be provided on request.

So if there is any one who would like to build one for me please reply to this post.

    Cheers and many thanks

    CB

Firstly, thankyou for using the word Numpty! Brilliant.

Are you looking for someone to give you a detailed plan, or to do the building for you? If the latter, you might want to tell us where in Oz you are...

    Cheers
    Stuart.

One can buy BBQ drum kits from the US
All you need is the motor to turn it and you can buy it here in Australia

Re: BBQ Coffee Roaster - Build one for a numpty

Hi again and thanks for the quick reply.

I live in the Riverina Area of NSW (Please pm for exact location)

I am hoping to get some one to build me one, after all why send my hard scammed K-RUDD (elmer fudd) $$$$ off shore.

I like the ones that I have seen on here that have a simple but effective door incorporated into it to dump the beans.

I can source the rotisserie part and motor. So I am just after some nice person to build the barrel.

I am happy to pay a mutually acceptable price including all freight.

I admit I am a self confessed numpty on all things fabrication, but if I can ever be of assistance with IT matters just give me yell.

        Cheers

        CB

            Welcome CB.... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Why not go the whole hog and try some of your local fabrication businesses. Im sure that any half decent outfit could build you what youre looking for without building up a sweat. That way, the dollars not only stay in Oz but help out your local community. Whats more, there are some very innovative fab shops in that neck of the woods, why not give em a go....

              Hi,

Thanks to all that have contributed.

I have decided not to go down the home roasting path.
I have however located a nice sized commercial roaster at an unbeleivable price.

              Thanks,

              CB

                Its a double meaning statement/post ?

Did you find a Coffee Roasting Machine
or a business that sells coffee at an unbelievable price

To us a nice sized commercial roaster means a 2 or 5 kg Topper
I am assuming it is the second ? cos you dont want to home roast

                  Hi KK,

Well then what I have bought is doubly nice

I have located a 10 kg baby boy named TOPER !!!

I plan to keep it as an investment and just supply a small select few customers until I feel I am ready to quit my job and go all out.

I look forward to learning more about coffee.
I have a back ground in brewing all grain beer so I am excited to venture into the world of coffee.

I have been passionate about coffee for decades. I have travelled extensively across this wide brown land and experienced both the highs and lows of what is on offer.

But over all my experience has been good.

In fact I had a wonderful Machiato made by a member of this site this very morning . Thanks goes to "MOTO Coffee"

                  Cheers

                    Charred Beans
Thats one for the record book
3 posts and upgraded to a 10 kg roaster
(I hope you dont produce charred beans  )
A name change may be in order

"You are definitely a coffee snob"

What did moto say to you

Well strangely enough he started the transaction by saying "hello"
                       :P

I will change my name eventually one day. Then I can be the artist formerly known as Charred Beans
