Yep, less than 24 hours later the above is still true.

We have an electrician coming to the Snobbery today to test and tag so we are getting closer.

    I will let everyone know.

      hey Barrel!

Did you order it from Beanbay?  Mine says Sold Out - according to Andy, the Sold Out is valid until tagging, checking etc.

      Id hate to miss out!!

      cheers

      Funny story that,

poor Andy was trying to set up the behmor in the beanbay when clumsy me stumbles into the beanbay and sees it as available while Andy is testing, so I clicked on it a bought one! :

Talk about timing, anyway as Andy has said, they are not ready yet but he will let us know when they are good to go.

        Re: Behmor

Well from what Ive read they seem like a decent roaster and quiet too!!!!. Can’t wait to get my grubby fingers on one   Thanks for your efforts Andy, you do have it for a great price! (http://www.behmor.com.au)

I wonder if the wife is going to be happy to get her bread machine back....... It has always served me proudly on the frontline of coffee roasting. But alas I think its days as a kitchen appliance will be limited when she discovers the battle scars it carries after the war.

Great package, now Im getting really excited.
I have been a long time reader and lurker but have just registered here when I saw the pricing.  I like the idea of roasting coffee at home but not too keen on building a crazy contraption (although I love seeing other peoples efforts).

Even though Im a just new signed-up member can I still get one at the CoffeeSnobs member pricing?

I had nearly bought one from (the place in Sydney) as I figured because they said they were "non-profit" it would be far cheaper than here (pictures attached).  Certainly glad I waited too.

So how can you sell them at such a low price?  Are these seconds or different?

Looking forward to the smell of fresh coffee roasting soon,

           Justy.

            Hello Justy,

Seems there is not for profit and then there is not for profit.

Andys stock is different, because its tested and tagged and its the same, but at a dramatically different price. For me, that means it;s a whole heap better.

In addition its supplied with beans, BeanBay credit and a FairCrack donation as part of the purchase price. You get to participate in doing something great for others with no middleman...

Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Hope you enjoy the new roaster!

ps- your pix taken from the other site have been deleted. Were not supplying any free publicity for the way more expensive but still not not for profit Behmor :

              Ooops, sorry. :-[

I didnt really want to publisise the other place, it was more curiosity that their asking price of $475 without all the extra freebies and they claim to be non-profit made me wonder if the the roasters were in fact the same item.

Yeah thay are a good little roaster.  Not perfect but bang-for-buck its seriously great value.  I would like to see better (smarter?) profiles and more air control but Ive been spoilt with a commercial roaster for years.  I have found that adjusting the volume of beans works well on the existing profiles and you can get great results.

The other good news is I have heard that if they do change things in the future it will be a simple retro-fit to upgrade.

Hmmm... it will be an interesting cleaning job.  Sounds like a good topic for another thread.
What is the best coffee roasting residue cleaning method?

Sure.  If you are a member of our community then you can buy all sorts of things in BeanBay and get special offers and discounts from our site sponsors (listed on the left of every page)

Same roaster from the same batch and the same supplier of the 240v roasters.  I too think its strange that someone claiming to be non-profit has such a big price difference but maybe his overheads or freight/customs/broker-fees are higher?!?!

CoffeeSnobs have never been non-profit but we have always been very fairly priced with amazing service.  We often use site sponsor payments and other income to help subsidise freight and items when we can (which is why we are happy to plug sponsors and encourage people to purchase their coffee gear from them too).  The bigger our community gets the better the rewards for all.

On the Behmor we have simply put together the best package we can for CSrs.

                8-)

                  Some pictures...

                  1. Return from the docks in Melbourne and the SnobVan is FULL!

                  2. How did they all fit? (SnobVan does the Tardis impersonation)

                  3. The pretty roaster box inside the ugly shipping box.

                  4. The shiny toy inside the pretty box that was inside the ugly box.

                  5. What ya get.  The roaster, the wire drum, the new improved low profile chaff tray and a basting brush chaff cleaning brush. The roaster also has the new model handle on the door.
(Ill do a side by side comparision to the 18 month old prototype roaster sometime)
