email andy@coff...... or the "contact us" on the bottom will get me too.

Different areas have different shipping methods for the roaster so it's not easy to have a blanket answer but Perth, WA is a 14kg eParcel with a roughly 3-5 business days delivery time depending on timing of the trucks across the country.
What about Darwin? I've just decided to pull the pin on this but I can only get courier deliveries to site (no Post) and AusPost-only to home (apartment).

*EDIT* That'll teach me to skim-read... email inbound...

Be sure to read the manual thoroughly. Lots of stuff in there than can effect the warranty should something go wrong. For instance the bit re: roasting 10 secs past 2C.
Check the www.Behmor.com site for updates as well.

          • Had my first roast. 300g Default at 1lb, P1 up time to 20:30.

FC was at 09:30 and by 08:15 it was a on 2C

Seems pretty quick but came up pretty dark but no oil visible.

Ethiopian and New Guinea beans mix. Hopefully some mocha java

Came out at 250g batch. Look forward to it in a few days

            • I got my Behmor delivered yesterday.
The basket wasn't engaging the motor properly until I gave the bracket on the left a slight nudge towards the right, but after that everything seemed to be working OK.
I set my roaster to 230v, as that's what I thought the nominal voltage in ACT was meant to be. What does changing this setting actually do? Does it actually change the roast times?
The profile and program settings all seemed a bit cryptic to me, but I think I've got my head around them now.
Its a bit of an upgrade over a popper

                • I have quite a few roasts under the belt now and have developed a program that suits me fine. My power has been adjusted by Energy Australia and the maximum I see these days is about 245 volts which is a far cry from 256 volts I was getting earlier in the year.

                  This is what I do.

                  330 grams of Beans.
                  1lb
                  P5
                  B
Wait till I hear the first crack, immediately put the handle of the brush in the top and side of the door and adjust time to finish in 2½ minutes time.

I also have a friend that has a Behmor and he rang me one day saying that he was completely frustrated with the Behmor. He tried my settings and is now in love with the machine.

                  • Hi fellow behmor roasters,
wondering if someone could provide me with some guidance on roasting Honduras Montana de Comayagua from beanbay. My mate has had his behmor for a few weeks and has tried a number of profiles using 250g green including P5 1/2 pound & P2 1/2 pound. 1st roast baked it and didnt hit first until 20mins, 2nd roast didnt hit first. Any insights would be great.

                    Thanks

                    • When looking for help on a specific bean you might have better luck looking at/asking in the thread for it in the Cup Tasting Room.

There are lots of factors that come into play but it sounds like the roast was never hot enough in both those roasts.
Try P1 profile as the heating element stays on at 100% power for the entire roast.
P5 profile heat starts off low and ramps up as the roast progresses.
P2 profile heat starts off at 100% power, then the power dips after 1/2 way and back to 100% for the final leg.
It also helps if you stick to the same batch size while experimenting.
                        Good luck.

250g is above the maximum weight for the 1/2lb profiles you've been using - that is why you're not completing those roasts. Either drop the weight or use the 1lb profiled with that weight.

                          • just joined the Behmor owners. Trying my first roast, it has just hit cooling. I did it on P3 1/2 pound - used 220g of beans. I dont think i quite hit second crack. Will continue to experiment. Hopefully I will be able to retire the coretto.

                              • Anyone had any success getting a temp probe into the bean mass inside the behmor drum?
