Is there any tins that would fit the crazy popper straight away just buy eating the food inside a can?
I bought an asparagus can that I only had to cut the bottom and top open and it went in with a little manipulating. From memory I think it was edgell brand but not 100% Didnt bother eating the canned asparagus just chucked it, but if you are a fan happy eating!

      I can see it now.

Police issue Tin Can Terror Warning!

After multiple reports of sightings in virtually every major city of smokey smelling people seen wandering around grocery stores and local markets with a pair of calipers measuring tin cans police today issued a warning to be on the look-out for members of this so called Tin Can Gang. When questioned about the possible reasons behind this behaviour police would only say that it was undoubtably something diabolically sinister as even their best investigators could come up with no explanation.

Police warn that if the general public should spot one of these Tin Canners that they should not attempt to make any contact but should immediately leave the area and then inform their local law enforcement agency.

Police went on to say that in at least 2 of the reported instances the people involved appeared to be testing the cans on a hot air popcorn popper and worry that it may be part of some new homemade airbourne distribution system. As a result they have asked all retailers and service centers for such items to report any suspicious purchases or repairs. They are requested specifically to be on the look-out for multiple purchases or repairs by the same person or any sale or service to someone who smells of smoke.

Heinz very special soup tins work well in poppers too. You might even enjoy the soup, as opposed to soggy asparagus in brine. Make sure you create a popperdom while youre making your chimney, theyre an indispensable combination.

          19mins in a popper... Insane!!!!

If youre doing 150g in a popper with out the chinmey, youd be losing HEAPS of beans... I lose the odd bean now with a chimney...(With the popper slightly tilted - this aids in a more even roast with enhanced agitation)... but the Corretto Roast for me is only days away...just awaiting my delivery of a Breville Big Loaf BM and off to Bunnings for a few (Need a back up) HGs... my popper days are almost over... although it maybe good for sampling, so it may pop back a few times :-)

I did lose heaps of beans mate. But the times were mad. I will post the taste results soon - after they have gassed off for long enough

Yes, your popper times are mad!... You have a winner with your popper... the fan must be a real ripper... or the heating element isnt as high as others...

Last night (12am I finished), in the cooler weather, I did a 150g roast in about 9:30mins... It was nice and cool I thought Id do a few extra batches before the weather goes up and destroys my roast time length.

Got any pics of your roast?

                  Crazy Popper opening is 70mm.
Just take a measuring tape to the supermarket and measure the soup cans before security throw you out.

Make a cardboard cut out the same size as the opening and take that with you to the supermarket to compare it with the various tins on offer

I hear the digital dial verniers work real nice for catching peoples eyes. Especially the ones with the bright multi-color LEDs and built-in laser pointers. ;D

I left it about 30 hours and re-tried the darker batch.  Very nice.  Only a hint of grass and I bet by tomorrow that will be gone completely.  Extracted very well also.  Here is the photo of the extraction at beginning using a standard double basket on the EM6900

This is end of extraction. Top one is 9 mins - bottom is same blend 19 mins

                                Hey ozscott,

Can I suggest you use a finer grind or updose a bit more... Looks like the shot is a little pale... I normally go for a thinner, tighter pull. This is perhaps why you are getting grassy flavours... Under-extraction.

Ill try post pulling a shot from my EM6910 tonight and show you. I may even doing a Naked shot as well
