Ive been using a Bosch PHG 630 DCE with great success over the past 6 months or so http://www.bosch-presse.de/TBWebDB/en-US/PressText.cfm?CFID=1705465&CFTOKEN=a128df0c3ad1a1f d-C70D0198-E76B-5BBC-8C0E3E8AEC157D90&id=1429
Very good heat control and variable air flow.
No temp stability problems, it just does exactly whats needed.
Bosch have had them in their range since 2003 so they must be a reliable unit, had mine for about 6 years and has done heaps of work stripping paint before it assumed its present role.

Ive got a Bosch electric drill thats over 30 years old and has been well used, replaced the power cord once and it still runs like a clock, mind you the Makita cordless is the go to drill nowadays.
Metabo, Makita, Milwaukee, DeWalt for example, all make trade quality tools and worth a look. Ive gone with a Metabo HG as personal experience with this manufacturer over the years has been excellent in both home use and industrial use.....
