Have you found out any more info about copper when its oxidised?
So far 6 months of using my baby, and no short term ill effects.
Have been through my annual health check up and nothing turned up on blood tests.
No effect on the taste of finished product either.
One of the reasons i chose to roast using the baby is the long history of the Velox and the different incarnations through the years.

Am sure Coffee-Tech would have tested the "toxicity" of copper thoroughly.
My water copper pipes are 40 years old.

I dont think the copper is mixed with alloys as the specs says its 99% copper.

If its exposed to air it will oxidise... When Ive cut or scratched copper (and also all the sources I can find report) Ive seen a reddish/pinkish brown colour of unoxidised copper - if its an alloy with a large amount of another metal I can understand the colour difference...

If you have any other information that contradicts this Id really like to see it...

If its copper... why does it look like steel now?  
My HG just died so I was considering going up a model or looking at this puppy but now Im a bit wary...

Not many people see copper in its unoxidised state

Typing this with that lingering flavour of that flat white i had half hour ago, and the beans was roasted yesterday! 8-)
Off topic, the Bolivians were prone to tipping and uneveness which i didnt get from the El Salvador or PNG Waghi.
