Anyone have anything to share on the subject, or is it a secret code for how the technology is to be acquired? :-)

Today Dad and I had a play with our prototype USB driven Behmor and Im very happy to say it worked very well.

First roast we used manual controls to build a profile template. *

Ramp up to first crack at 90% power with the roasting fan on, *hit first crack at 10 minutes and turn the afterburner on while taking some heat out of the element. *Coast to second crack at 60% power and at 14 minutes turn off the element, spin the drum faster and turn the exhaust fan on to cool the beans. *It was a great looking roast.

Next was to try the automated control. *Load the above template into the Roast Controller, set it to [Auto] and hit [GO]. *The software then controlled the element to follow the loaded profile. *The result? Another great roast from the Behmor!

So all in all it was a very successful day of testing and very exciting to see a concept come together.

We have more testing to do and some refining of the features then it will be a matter of making it into a package that can be easily replicated and installed. *

This is a good time to note that the owner of Behmor-Limited has nothing at all to do with this whacky project and doing anything like this will instantly void your warranty (not to mention the safety risk of tinkering with voltage and heat).

The great news is that this modificaion/upgrade/kit will work on all existing Behmor roasters.

Before you ask "where do I get one?", "how much does it cost?" or "when can I get it fitted to my roaster?" please understand this is just a prototype and a proof of concept.

Now we know it can be done we will continue to refine the idea and then determine if its possible to supply it as a DIY kit or similar upgrade.

Here is a teaser picture of the prototype testing tonight at the Snobbery Too.

Please dont try this at home (yet!)

            8-)

Not going to bother you with "Are we there yet"

but put me down for one when there available.
Unless there $5 less than a new complete Behmor.
then I will wait till we get alot more onboard and make it affordable.

                Hi Andy,
Any movement on this project yet?

I'm more thaan happy to assist in development - as an Electrician and Instrumentation tech I'm more than comfortable in modding the Behmor and willing to use the one I just received from you
