  • KKTO build - some questions (OK a lot!) ??

Hi, Im putting together a design and bits and pieces for my KKTO (Klone/Interpretation) build and there are still some unknowns Id like some help with please.

    1. I have a Tiffany TO so all good there.

    2. I have an el-cheapo pasta set that the wife hates so is now possibly mine for the build, but the proportions look very different to those of the standard Arcosteel. Hopefully someone here could please measure up the official Arcosteel and post the equivalent measurements to compare?

    The dimensions of mine are:
    Outer Pot. Inside Diam = 24cm, Depth = 15cm (16cm to lip)
Inner Perforated Pot: Top lip diam = 26cm, Perforated inner section diam = 23cm, Depth to lip = 17.5cm

So my pots have @ 1cm space between the bottom of the perforated pot and outside pot which seems much less than the Arcosteel? Maybe no liner needed here? Probably some external insulation though?

    3. Im currently looking at a couple of motor/gearboxes. Both are 12v 60rpm - one is 3 kg-cm and the other is 13kg-cm torque. What would be the minimum torque requirements for the KKTO motor? The first is much more compact but I fear not up to the job. Is there an inline fuse to the motor in the KKTO kits? I dont see one listed in the parts list.

    4. Ive never quite figured out if there is also ceramic insulation surrounding the wall of the liner in addition to the base of the liner?

    5. What is the approximate height (center section) and width (straightened out) of the double agitator blade? Whats the spring diameter?

No doubt more questions to follow.

    thanks.

Yes I have that info (see drawing)

The kit was developed so you dont pull your hair out trying to figure out how to do it
Its best to get the bits you need from Barazi or the KKTO site

Thanks KK - thats exactly what I needed.

What is the spacing between the bottom of the perforated pot and the Alu liner please? Im trying to figure out how low the liner sits in the outer pot. Id like to check that my volume is in the right ballpark. So far it looks good.

No worries about hair pulling - just plenty of pondering and planning

Awesome - thanks again KK the pasta pots are almost spot on in sizing.

They are however of the flimsy thin variety (and dont fit together all that well) so it will be interesting to see how well they go.

The insert from the kit will
            1) give you correct volume
            2) hold the insulation in
            3) add strength to the lower pot as it affectively adds approx 2mm extra in metal
