Re: Measuring temp in a Behmor

Kevo I should bring mine around and show you, like lemoo and David, I drilled a hole in mine (well OH did) after the first roast and that was only because I couldnt find the template to do it as soon as it arrived

Funny how really old threads come back to life...

      Here is the template
(from the datalogger thread that David linked to above)

Just a note Andy - with the currently shipping Thermocouple, you need a 4mm hole all the way through - the 3mm hole is too small. (you had previously mentioned that you were going to alter the template?)

Out of the 2 stainless steel thermocouple probes in bean bay,
Which one is it best to use?

            (9 month lag!)
...a good example of the fact I won't/don't/can't see every question posted to the forum!

I think the 25mm is neater, the 100mm is more flexible as you can determine how far in to push it and can easily use a tube or similar to restrict how far in it goes.

              Hi Andy,
I have the roaster and USB data logger on the way... hopefully will get it tomorrow.
After reading up a bit on the Roast Monitor software (not too much available) I want to know what you have connected to the roaster as in the picture - to control the roaster.
I've been looking at various controls (programmable PID) but still wouldn't work with the software.
I'm more than comfortable with modifying the unit - I'm an Electrician in the field of Instrumentation.

Look forward to hearing from you - and getting the roaster of course!
