    Hi KK
Yup done 215 roasts and its still going strong.
The only thing i have noticed is that it now cycles on and off when it gets to about 180deg so the roasts take a little longer than before (21 min + 5min warm cycle)

I got one of these yesterday for a friend to go with the left over bits from my KKTO.

This TO has a solid element and really struggled to get hot enough out of the box, we did a second roast without the fan guard as a test and it rocketed along.

So a fan guard mod will probably be required and no halogen element means no light so it is a bit hard to see what is going on.

Hi Gary, which one did you get, the Aldi Lumina, or the KMart Homemaker?

I got the one from Aldi.

Also, it doesnt come with an extender ring so you will need a convienient place to put it when it is hot.

I am 99% sure the kmart one DOES have an extender ring, might well be worth the extra $4

The one I got from Kmart had the extender ring (this is now the basis of my roast chamber along with a 33cm terracotta flower pot drainage dish). It also had a stand to hold the roaster top when not in use (and stinking hot). I have measured the current draw when in use and it pulls 5.8 amps, so it is hitting about 1400 watts. For me it was worth the extra $4, not that I have a choice, the nearest Aldi is on the east coast :.

Thanks KK this has been a life changing bit of DIY...

too often these mods are a pain in the bum then they slowly self destruct ...not this one though....and thankfully they do have a kmart in tassie even if we havent got Aldi yet..
