Anyone have a good look over the weekend?

    Look cute but:
    -stainless drum
    -VERY thin ironwork
-the burner was a mile from the drum and looked pretty poor too.

I reckon itd be a tough ask to turn out a respectable product with one as the thermal properties would be dodgy at best. For me, they were very unresolved.

I wonder how many will get sucked in?

        Re: PRoaster

The train is seriously cute, I didnt see it on the weekend but did see the Proaster stand as SCAA last year with the train and a couple of other similar roasters on display.

I can see those sitting in cafes everywhere, a good talking point even if not a good roaster.
        8-)

Still, I would want to play with one before I built a cafe around it to see what the output is like.  They might be ok but until the first sucker person buys one to try we wont really know.

There are a lot of engineering companies around the world building roasters, sadly not many coffee roasters build coffee roasters and there is the real problem.

Did anyone get quoted a landed price at Cafebiz?

The 15kg is $27K and the choo choo train is $12k with the rest of the range falling somewhere in between

What are the drums on your Coffee-Tech roasters made from?

I can answer that for you Bruce. The Coffee-Tech drum is specifically designed for infra-red and is 4mm thick, perforated, and made from two layers of mild steel that are laminated.
