Thanks all for your responses - I was asking because my experience with the genecafe is that the glass drum needs frequent dishwashing, and it still seems to darken with time. That said, in the i-coffee there should be no physical contact between the bean and the glass dome.

    Hi Deborah,

You must be roasting really dark and well into rolling second crack for this much oil to accumulate.

Mine had done a few hundred kilos and I have washed the drum once- when I overdid it.

Try cooling at the very first snaps of 2nd. You will get less oil and you may like the coffee more as well.

    Cheers

    Chris

Actually, no, just until I hear the first couple of snaps of 2nd crack then I stop it. There have been a couple of burned batches of course, but results are usually cs9-10.

        Hi SorrentinaCoffee,
Just noticed that the I-Roaster + Bean Cooler package is out of stock. Is the bean cooler expected to come back into stock?
        Cheers
