And, for no reason at all - here is a picture of my son Will fighting Darth Vader.
Great photo - did he win? ;D

        Hi JB,
You seem to have done much work and have good experiences with this roaster. For a newbie CS such as myself would you recommend this machine? I think that I am uncontrollably drawn to it like a moth to a flame......

          Unreservedly.

The results are stunning and for me, this is what the coffee rosating experience should be. Our Korean friends have really thought this through and produced a brilliant little roaster.

Not only does it not get easier than this machine, you would have to spend many times more to get a better roast from a store bought machine.

Have your wings caught fire yet?

Update: Start, then move all the way back to the left - all my batches went through without any hitches, weight from 150 to 220gm. Looks like for me the key was to make sure that the dial was all the way back to the left after starting.

I have not had any problems with my Icoffee after a dozen or so batches and feel that my roasting has improved a lot since I first started.

Drinking a batch a roasted on the weekend today, I was really really happy with the flavor and complexity of the coffee. Actually, I was seriously impressed with my efforts. looking forward to many more.

                Cheers

I picked one up when Sorrentina first released them. It really does make roasting easy. If you want to do a lot of tweaking with your roast profiles then this isnt for you, but if you just want to roast coffee and enjoy the results then IMHO this is the best buy in the price range.

I have given roasted beans to friends and they are blown away, one is getting himself one for his birthday.

I can see myself never buying brown beans again 8-)

Thanks for that. I am purely interested in roasting good quality fresh beans to drink and enjoy with others. I would like to achieve the goal of inventing the best central american blend in the world (cant decide whether to do this before or after world domination) but for now I think that this is the one.

I take it that you are very happy with your roaster?

1 x iCoffee Roaster in my hot little hands....... But no roasting allowed until my chores are done. I am excited, giddy like a little kid. Which greens do I roast first? Bearing in mind that this is my first time and it will be the one I remember forever...... I have Ugandan, Kenyan, Peruvian, PNG Kona & Flores. Decisions, decisions.......

Peruvian is a good roast to start with or if the ugandan is masabar then maybe that? I love that bean!

Love this roaster, suits my needs perfectly

                              Hi Roz,
Thanks for the tip. The Ugandan is Masaba. I think that I may give the Peruvian beans a go - the consensus seems to be that they are a forgiving bean to roast. I will definitely be giving this some more thought this afternoon while I take care of the chores (digging holes and moving dirt) ........must go and boost after lunch caffeine levels.
                              Regards, frank (Mariner).
