I think there may be a CSer or 2 with one Choco.

FYI, Mark at Coffee roasters Australia is also landing the 1kg table top Has Garanti as well. Its also Australian compliant.

The website shows 3 motor, 4kw and about 95kg.

silly thought but a 1 Kg roaster would be too big for domestic use unless you drink s lot more coffee than me but too small to make money from commercially.

There would be people that drink a fair bit more coffee than you and there would be people that drink less. I even know some people that dont drink coffee at all :-?

A 1kg roaster would be the perfect size for someone that wanted to roast for themselves and friends.

Seems to be a fair bit of information on various coffee forums about these 1kg machines.

Im also thinking getting one, Gas version though. I like sampling spoon... So long. with Akaneks its a short sampling spoon but for Has Garanti, Im still trying to look for that sampling spoon in HGS 2kg.

I do wish Toper had the 2kg version since the price difference would be little. (Based on has garantis HGS 1kg and 2kg, 250 USD difference)

Re: New Toper 1 Kg Electric

Just enjoying a spot of lunchtime head clearing in amongst doing all the end of financial year stuff.....

                  Here we go again.....

Please buy from the Australian agent of whatever equipment you are interested in, unless you want whatever remains of Australian jobs, industry and business closing up and then you certainly will have to buy direct, with zippo chance of ever having any local help / after sales service. If it isnt handled by someone in Oz already, do you really want to break new ground importing one offs direct?

                  End of speech.

For the rest of it. The 1 kg Cafemino (Toper) is a beaudy, dont know about the others but whatever you do, always ask if the roaster of your dreams can actually roast the full batch referred to in the name ie.....will your Dotdotdotdotdot name 1kg roaster, effectively / actually roast a 1 kilo batch properly?

Some cant and can only "oven bake" the kilo......which is fine if you are into drinking liquid wood.

And lets for argument sake say that a 1 kilo machine of your choice costs you.....$5000.00 (I dont know just a guess)?  For you to roast your 500 grams of coffee a week at home.

Are there not plenty of you using anywhere between $3000 and $4000 worth of coffee machine and grinder......to make your 4 cups of coffee a day.

...seems like similar costings really if you can justify the expense.

Note:.........roasting machine manufacturers are currently laughing all the way to the bank if you know what I mean.........

As to feedback, advice and comments:
Great toys, but if you buys a machine you lives with the consequences!  Heres a question / Will you be able to resell in the future, and what sort of financial return do you expect to make (nothing to do with roasting your own coffee)?  Will your investment turn into a financial dead loss, and is the possibly artificial "special interest" generated in these sites OR, the real personal interest and satisfaction from owning and using such a machine, worth the expense?

Playing Devils Advocate, and only you can answer.

Oh well back to work now.
