  • Yet another turbo oven roaster

Well after a lot of procrastination I have taken a few photos of my version of the KKTO.

My one is based on an oven with stainless steel pot that is used as the outer container. I wanted a better method of getting the beans out so I have used a fixed inner pot and the whole assembly tips to remove the beans.

Here are some photos of the overall setup.

WOW! Industrial production style- with what looks like scientific rigour- love it! henry Ford would be proud of this production line. incredible set up .well done. a home roastery indeed- you should try a few batches of almonds as a treat- and then make an automated chocolate coater (chocolate coated coffee beans are pretty damn good too)...hmmm.

Gazza, its been a while, but the wait has been worth it.

That is a great job, you need to put up a video of a bean dump. Its a great example of functional design and available materials, a thing of great beauty.

Due to the depth of the motor I had to lower the cooling drawer so the dump is a two hand process, I have to hold the colander under the lip of the pot while I tip otherwise its beans everywhere.

Ill see what I can do about a video but it will require an extra body.

Yes it works quite well as long as I dont shake the pot too much. To get the chaff out of the pot I use a vacuum cleaner once it has cooled.

                              Another great KKTO innovation Gary

The solution for tipping the beans to the cooler below is a scoop like cowling
This can be quickly slipped on prior to tipping the roast chamber to act as a guide for the tumbling beans

Something like this without the handle and back
