    Re: New Behmor coming?

Im thinking that a behmor will be my christmas (or late christmas) pressie to myself.

Probably should have bought one when they were in stock for all that time!

    No.
Selling or taking a deposit on something that I cannot touch will always end in tears.

Instead I can guarantee that when they land you will be able to buy one (we are landing PLENTY to go around).

Current schedule is still looking like just this side of Christmas but until they have docked and gone through customs inspection I dont have a firm delivery date.

Ill email all the CS members when they are available though.

I agree totally I had exactly the same experience. I almost set fire to the machine when I started but now it produces batch after batch of excellent roasts. I too only use one or two setting as I have found them to be the best. To get a better second crack I find setting profile P2 to be the best and extending the ending time by 30 seconds seems to work better too. Enjoy.

The Behmor is a great value-for-money machine. I love it, apart from a few disasters getting to know it at the beginning, Ive made some amazing batches that are as good as "big name" brands.  The only thing I would like is to see a bit more in the manual about the different profiles and why they are different. Mostly Ive just used a couple of different ones and if theyve turned out ok then I stick to them, but sometimes I wonder if I could be exploring the settings more. (But Im afraid to waste any precious beans by mucking around too much!!).
There is also a Facebook page called "I love my Behmor roaster". Naturally I had to join it!

andy i agree +1  8-). we have the same issue with cpu motherboards: if it has a fan over the cpu & the fan clogs up , then the board runs hotter and the cpu can fail.  often a well engineered cooling solution with no moving parts is far preferable.

Sigh... after the roaster being used for 2+ years in Australia there are a total of none, zero, zip, nada cases of electronics failure from overheating.

If anything the addition of a fan on a roaster that doesnt need it adds another moving part that has the potential to fail.

The fan addition was for 40+ climates, not QLD or tropical Indo and it may/may not endup on the Australian build.

sounds like me with my job andy

my boss can go on all he wants about all the work coming up for you but until the work starts it doesnt exist

just like roasters which dont exist until theyre at the snobbery right andy ;D

i did the same thing nick_wilko before I got mine, the wait is hell but worth it once you get one... patience grasshopper :P

We had 16 months of continuious stock and ever since the day we ran out Im had multiple queries a day from people who ummmd and ahhhd a week too long.
    :

Current status is still "Before Christmas" according to the factory, I dont know any more yet.

The biggest gotcha with freighting goods at this time of year is the lag/queue/backlog at the docks. Im a little nervious that will add to the wait.

When I know more Ill let everyone know.

    No worries, thought Id ask.

After uming and ahing for a while on this, Ive finally decided to get started on roasting at home. Of course, as soon as I made that decision the behmor was sold out!

Ive been looking at the entry level home roasters and it seems to be right up there in terms of features for the price.

Looking forward to the next release!

We will be getting another run of Australian spec roasters built at the factory sometime soon (I dont have dates and even if I did it would still be "soon" as until I can touch them they dont really exist)
Before Christmas is the current schedule but as I said above... until I can touch them they dont really exist!

(Ive been dealing with customs and freight forwarders long enough to know better than to mention a date)

    same here,
at this price point youd be mad to buy anything else, even moreso considering the batch sizes that are possible

apart from the behmor the only things that come to mind would be the coretto and kkto both of which are some assembly required

Can anyone advise me on a really good value for money home roaster please.
I think the Behmor presents itself a home roaster that ranks well in the value for money department.

The hottop is $1000+ and it uses paper filters.

The behmor is $400 delivered and doesnt have any consumables. Just make sure you wipe it down and follow the instructions.
