  • Broken gene drum

I feel so dumb. I broke the glass drum on my gene roaster. Usually its pretty resistant to knocks but obviously it comes out second best in a collision with a table corner. So Im considering building a copper or stainless steel drum from sheet metal to replace the broken glass in stead of buying a new drum assembly.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

    Hi Espressomonk,
No good replacing your glass cylinder with stainless steel or sheet metal as you cannot see the colour of your beans as they roast.
Get on the net and contact sponsor Avacuppa (listed in sponsors to the left). They are Genecafe specialists.
