The oven on my KKTO is 1300 watts and can do 800 grams in 17 minutes.

Of course, not as techie as the Hottop but only $700.

I wish someone would just get on with it and make a Domestic gas powered roaster that you can buy off the shelf for under $1500

With only 1350-1500W it would be akin to trying to roasting coffee with a hair dryer... a $5800 hair dryer. I simply cannot see it working... unless each batch runs for 30 mins or so.... and that can't be good. Like Chris, I too do not see any value proposition here.

Hmm...sounds like seriously little wattage for a 1kg roaster- especially if they're proposing 110V on a US model..

As a comparison, a 1kg Has Garanti electric is not much more and uses 3900W of element. It's also not that much more- for full commercial, not domestic.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I can't see the value in this one.

    Hottop 1kg first look!

Doesn't seem to have been posted yet so if anyone missed it here's the news:

News from Hottop USA - NEW Hottop Coffee Roaster for 2013

Looks ace. Something tells me this puppy is gonna be pricey.

EDIT: A poster on HB said they received a message from HottopUSA about the pricing and ETA "the production model should be available in 3-4 months and the price is
    around $5,800". Far out.
Working...
