I'm happily roasting 1kg batches in approx 14 mins getting to first crack around 11-12 min mark. No problem whatsoever. Still got my training wheels on though.
I've had no mechanical problems with my unit which looks to be a later build judging by the serial number.
My roaster does not reach charge state ie where it tells you to load the beans. So I preheat at 160 but the bean temp probe only gets to like 140/150c so I have to start the roast manually.
Aillio are onto it though. I'm still able to roast with no problems.
JB.

How are people finding the Roast Time software? I'm obviously missing a dependancy because whenever I try and run it the app crashes.
Does anyone know what software I'm supposed to have installed. I've found finding information on the support software kinda hard to come across? (I hope I'm in the right place to post this)
Apart from that I've been loving this roaster, but I'd love to be having the profiles and how it roasts recorded.

My Roast time software works just fine. Installation was straight forward on my Windows 7 and also Windows 10 PC.
I just followed the instructions as mentioned earlier by Talk Coffee. The only problem I have is when I resize the window and receive a nasty looking error message to which I click continue and it carries on ok.
PM me if you want any details of the FB group if you can't find it.

I've worked it out. Yay! Got a whole two minutes of roast profileOriginally posted by javabeen View PostMy Roast time software works just fine. Installation was straight forward on my Windows 7 and also Windows 10 PC.

I've updated the manual with the solution (though not with screenshots alas)
The problem was the driver was installing on both interfaces (Followed the manual to the letter) So the solution was to disable "interface 0" which is the interface the you're not suppose to install the driver to. I'm guessing the correct software fix is to have code that checks for multiple interfaces and to choose the correct version and prompt if it can't see the correct version. I'd also wager that this is one of the causes for the Roaster not to be seen. Hopefully the next release will package it all up into one nice install that does all the setup for you.
Hopefully this helps someone!

There is some kind of an auto update, it works like. If you open up Roast Time, and there is an update. The next time you open the software, it will auto install the new update. I'll always open ups the program two times. To make sure I have the latest.Originally posted by Peter_Tomlins View PostInteresting I looked for the update but it didn't say that there was one. I'm running 1.0.0.33 (And firmware build 366). Maybe it auto updated?
There are no auto update for the firmware.
