Looks like pre-orders are about to finish up, with shipping to start soon

    From their Facbook:

JUST A QUICK NOTE - if you haven't read our last newsletter. We will end the pre orders from 10th Jan***. We have more than reached our target and Bullets are being assembled at this moment.
We are also sorting out all the orders and compiling a list of who get what, when and how. You will be contacted to confirm the shipping address + costs as soon as we have the quotes from our fright company.

My preorder is in and I'm excited to be part of this. The guys at Aillio have been very responsive to my questions and pretty much coffeesnobs in my opinion. They do not appear to be just some startup looking to make a quick buck.

This type of innovation/creativity/development is wonderful to see. It's great that the internet makes it possible for these guys to get their ideas into production and for us end users to be able to see it develop, back them, be part of it and benefit.

I thought agitation might be a tad fast and it turns out drum speed is adjustable if you look through their videos.

          Now to wait for delivery...

          Javabeen.

              Hello celph,

We have yet to get an ETA from Aillio, so have closed preorders at 10 units.

Once we have further information, we'll open orders again.

              Cheers

              Chris

                Hi Chris

                Just saw your update email.

I'm tempted to make it a holiday weekend and come over for MICE.

Looks like the roasters are finally about to ship

                        Their latest newsletter:

                        First roaster is done

Friday 4th we reached a major milestone. The first 100% factory assembled Bullet R1 left our assembly (see the above picture). Our Japanese distributor were visiting our office and factory to inspect the quality and production and together we witnessed the final assembly and consequently roasted 6 batches of coffee. We are excited about this!
                        Status

As mentioned on our Facebook page, I just got back from China. I went there to check the progress of the induction coil and induction PCB - and to explain to them in person that there can be no further delays!

More than 300 induction PCBs are done, and the aluminum part (frame) is now ready. The factory then assembles the PCB, coil frame, socket into one module. They will send me 20 modules today. The next batch will be 230pcs and should arrive this coming week. The 220V version will arrive first, followed by the 110V a week later.

The reason for manufacturing the induction module in China is that they are the only factory (to my knowledge) that uses the newest technology which is more energy efficient and will last longer. We chose this for the Bullet more than 2 years ago when we decided the topology, and have been working together with the factory since then.

We now have 20 finished roasters in the Taiwanese assembly line only waiting for the induction module. 230 more started production some weeks ago and are progressing.

Looking ahead, we will ship the first 12 roasters from 10-12 March. They will ship to Australia, Denmark and Singapore. The next batch of roasters will be shipped out starting from 28th March until 12th April at which point most early supporters should have received their pre-order. We will keep you updated on Facebook.

If you need to get in touch with us, we encourage you to send a message on Facebook.
                        Shipping Costs

We are working out all the shipping costs. They will be a little bit lower than our initial estimate.
As an example, shipping to USA will be a little less than $190.00 USD
                        Bullets on display

If time permits, we will be at MICE in Melbourne from 17th to 19th of March.
There will be a few Bullets on display there and a chance to try it out for yourself.

We have confirmation that at least one Aillio will be in operation at MICE.

I'll be on site on Friday only. Come say hello, meet the ECA crew and you get to chat with the designers of the Aillio as well.

Would love to come over for MICE, but the wife has plans on those dates so maybe next year. I hear the coffee is really good in Melbourne.
