The post from neofelis is incorrect, don't go out and buy any old oven globe like I did. You need a microwave oven globe, it's a different size again, E17
Yeah, I just stole that from the manual. I guess the manual needs editing and to be more specific. I did find the right bulb (which the manual was talking about) but they're all available in the states and overseas.
I did a fair bit of searching and can't find a 20W E17 over here. Only 25W.

For what it's worth (I'm no electrician!) I've had the E17 25W in mine for 8 months now without any issues.

Well I may be a late adopter but fired up my new behmor plus today and I have to say I'm very happy with the results !
First roast 100g India Elephant Hills on default setting - I extended the roast by 30 sec before hitting the cooling cycle - and very happy with the result !
Second roast 400g of PNG Organic Naturals - Again default settings, then temp drop to P1 for a minute at the end of first, crack followed by slow ramp for a minute by dialing through the profiles then hitting the cooling cycle -: very happy with both results !
So, it appears my Behmor has become possessed... I was roasting a test batch of the Biftu this afternoon, P1, dropped to 75% about 2/3 of the way in. I hit start to continue past that safety ‘feature’, first crack started not long after, there was a bit of time left but I hit C for rosetta stone anyway and it almost immediately went into cooling. No error code, nothing.
The cooling cycle went for around 10 seconds before the whole roaster shut off and started doing weird things. Various numbers were displayed randomly, drum started rotating for a few secs with no fan, drum stopped, different fans started and stopped, light went on and off. No buttons would respond to my frantic pressing so I had to quickly flick the mains switch before it would allow me to press the cool button in an attempt to salvage the batch. It then finished the new cooling cycle with no further issues.
Thoughts? The only numbers I remember displaying during the unexplained craziness were 99:00, r239, and 240.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. Just wondering if anyone else out there has had a similar experience. Unfortunately yes, ruined my precious Ethiopian Biftu. It managed to get through first crack from the residual heat, but too much tipping/scorching from the drum being stationary for too long.
I'll run through a couple of dry burns on the weekend to see if it happens again.
If it was only the first symptom might have been interrupted power supply, but the rest seems a bit weird. Wouldn't hurt to take the side off an have a look.
I had something similar which turned out to be an earth leak. It did much the same as you're describing then started flipping the circuit breaker. With mine it was around the light socket that was causing the issue. Open it up and make sure you don't have any screws or wires shorting anywhere.

First thought is contact the guy you bought it from... he's ugly but often helpful and should be faster than a random post on a forum.
Sounds like a power "blip" to me.
There are no intentional ways of getting those numbers up during a roast but you can do it from a standing start:
With the power off at the wall
Hold the start button in
Turn the power at the wall
...it will cycle through a heap of tech testing including the software revision (r239) the voltage you have set (240) and then go through 10 tests which include turning on the light, elements, drum motor (fast and slow) and fans.
It will run that cycle twice.
It's a cool feature of the Plus model which allows tech support to troubleshoot easier.
Haha, thanks Andy! That's interesting, good to know. Possibly just a brownout then, hopefully it doesn't happen mid roast again. My next step was going to be to contact you but you beat me to it. As helpful as I know you are, I just thought it might be more considerate to hold off bothering a busy business owner if I can get the information elsewhere first.
ok here's a newbie question that's probably already been answered but is it possible to set a manual roast time on the behmor plus?
as much as I enjoy the built in functionality of the unit sometime I just want to set a timer and control the temperature / power settings myself?
If you have the Behmor 1600+, yep. You can intervene at any stage to change a) the power going to the burners (by hitting P1 - P5), and b) the drum rotation speed ('D' button). If you don't have the 1600+ you can buy an upgrade kit that will do the trick.
