Ah, thanks so much Andy, at least I know who to keep an eye on.

Nice to see Australia getting first bite for once :P

Won't be the plus. My previous post was correct.

Should be a hoot of a video when they eventually get their hands on it though (though I think I'll turn the volume down).

Great work Andy on this and working with Mr Behm for all of the above! I'm very much looking forward to getting hold of one when they come available!
Any news or feedback about it from MICE? If there are any left after Saturday, will they go to people on the list?
              Thanks again!

Picked mine up today from MICE. I won't be able to christen it till Sunday/Monday. I'm very excited to use it and taste the results. I want to head out now but I'm buggered after working a volunteer shift at MICE for the cup tasting. What a day, overjoyed.
Nice to see you again Andy and to have a chat, no doubt you'll be even busier tomorrow with the public there. Thanks again.

                  Hi Andy
The manual I got does not describe how to use/what buttons to press to use these features. Any chance you could please give me a rundown?
                  Thanks

OK I couldn't resist. I went out and fired up Behmor plus, did the burn in then loaded up 100g of greens, Peru CDS. Think I answered my own questions as I couldn't help but try and have a fiddle with the controls. Manual mode/control is activated by pressing P1 to P5 for 0% to 100% power. I was able to vary the drum speed while in manual mode by pressing program button D, I think hehe.

The roast turned out very good, went to the start of second crack. It actually looks sensational, nice brown beans, no scorching or tipping, like commercially drum roasted beans. I used profile P1 100g, and fiddled with the power settings dropping it to 25% at rolling first crack then back up to 100% at the end of rolling first crack. At first crack I used the Rosetta Stone feature and added time to 2:30. Second crack came at about 2min after first crack at which stage I started the cooling cycle. 17% loss in bean mass, I'm impressed! Usually end up with much more loss in mass using other roasters but at the end of the day it's how it cups that matters.

Wow how easy is this? I'm impressed and glad I got it. Really looking forward to roasting in this beauty. Thanks Andy :-)

Oh and chamber wall and exhaust channel temps are viewed by pressing program buttons A or B respectively.

Thanks Delish007. Where did you get that from, is it from your own manual? Noticed the roast weight buttons are in pounds whereas mine are in grams so the 1 button for returning to Auto mode from manual would be the 400g button on the mine.

                          Cheers

Here is a "cheat sheet" for the new roaster.

                              Behmor 1600 Plus
                              Cheat Sheet.

                              Before connecting the mains supply:
                              1. Clean the roast chamber: Clean the interior of the roasting chamber with a soft cloth. Check for any remnant packing material.
                              2. Set the supply voltage: hold down the appropriate weight button - A for 220 volt, B for 230 volt, or C for 240 volt - then connect the supply. The display will show the set voltage. Press Start to save the voltage setting - You won't need to do this again unless your supply voltage changes.
                              3. Perform a dry burn: Without putting beans in the roaster, press [200] and Start. Allow the roaster to run through the entire cycle, which will take a total of 22 minutes - 12 minutes of heating followed by 10 minutes of cooling will count down in the display.
                              4. Never leave the roaster unattended while roasting coffee.
                              5. First roast: The roast profiles are calibrated to specific weights, so carefully weigh 100 grams of green coffee beans. Press [100] [Start]. The display will count down from 8:30. To ensure that the roaster is being monitored, when the display reaches 2:07 (75% complete), it will change to un:30 and count down for 30 seconds. Before the count reaches zero, you must press Start as an acknowledgement, otherwise roasting will stop and cooling will begin.

                              Advanced features

The Behmor 1600 Plus is designed to operate automatically (auto mode) after setting the weight, profile and power options, then pressing Start. However, if you want to take more control over the characteristics of the roast, you can do so.
To display the exhaust temperature, press the A button.
To display the chamber wall temperature, press the B button.
To set the "Rosetta Stone" remaining roast time at first crack, press the C button.
To switch to manual mode and set the heating power level, press P1 for 0%, P2 for 25%, P3 for 50%, P4 for 75%, or P5 for 100%.
To toggle the drum rotation speed between slow and fast (only in manual mode), press the D button.
To switch from manual mode back to auto mode, press the [400] button.
                              Error codes

If the Behmor 1600 detects a malfunction, it will display an error code:
                              • Err1: Roast chamber wall temperature too low.
                              • Err2: Roast chamber wall temperature too high.
                              • Err3: Exhaust temperature too high.
                              • Err4: Roast chamber wall temperature too high during cool phase.
                              • Err5: DC fan stalled.
                              • Err6: Drum motor stalled.
                              • Err7: Roast was unattended at 75% of roast time.
