Anyone familiar with the internals of a popper will recognise this is practically identical internally (just with some additional heater control).

Ummmm... no chance. Hot air popcorn poppers have been around forever. I know my parents had one way back in the early 70s... and it wasn't new then.

That's pretty much the same design as our old popper... including the chute up top. Pretty simple design... don't think they changed much over the years.

Interesting. So the 'novel' aspect would presumably have been it's use for roasting coffee, or the heater control (if anything).
