Imax CR-100 Trouble.

Med after first crack - a.ok. but I increased it to 16 mins to get it to medium roast.

The timer has 13 mins. Book states dark roast 11-13 minutes.

Then tried for dark roast - Wahgi & Brazil PNat. beans

Then 20 mins to get it darker - Same! No different.

24 mins. Dark but not to second crack. Beans were whirling around fast burning bits off the beans which were stuck in the middle.

I measured temp with lazer. Highest - 161 deg. which is too low.
Voltage 228 constant.
Beans 141g weighed.

There is just one thing that I must look at and test it again.
Add maybe a little more beans to make it spin less at start. Although I thought it looked slow enough maybe it wasn't. Boy what a touchy machine it is. But just maybe it's a dud and seller not wanting to change it?!?

Today I turned out a loverly Dark roast in 9mins.
With the machine on and the lid off I added more beans at the beginning till they were just turning not spining, which made all the difference.
Also the Voltage was 247V a little more than previously.

Problem solved.

I tried a Medium roast which I roasted 7 days ago on my new Oracle BES 980
I must say it tasted terrible. Way too bitter. So guess what I have to tweek now.
