Hey Serge, I wish I could speak French as well as you speak English.

For what its worth, if you want to negotiate with genesis, I think you are right to find someone who speaks the korean language rather than write, or speak, in English. Going by their brochure, their English isnt all that good anyway.

I think it would demonstrate that you are considerate of their needs and preferences - eg. "when in rome, do as the romans"

Good luck with it - I still wish I could afford the TN-1 !

Hi Dennis, Im going to Spain to visit the DisCaf company (TN-1) and I will squeeze them to get a better price for Australia as well as the possibility to build a smaller roaster.

Sorry to hear the sad news, yes you took the risk to get Gene Cafe up and running in this country, you and all the other Australian distributors should be proud of what you have achieved, in our minds we all know who the real heroes are.

As your name states, Go Barista !(Doesnt Give Up Or Go To Sleep Roaster) these are the very words that defines Serge Siboni. Hang in there buddy.

Thanks so much guys. Is that stuff from one supplier that told me they couldnt supply till mid year because of complying with Australian safety standards a lie, as Chris suggested?

I wonder if Australians are more likely to roast at home than some other countries? Its so good that this site focusses on the whole coffee experience, not just espresso making on the prettiest machine possible!

After all were in it to experience life and grow- its the journey isnt it?

Can feel an excursion to Pymble coming on... pity I cant get there before next week end... but thems the breaks.
Id only be guessing, but if hottops and genes are all too hard, theres sure to be another option just around the corner.
Fraid poppers arent good enough (for me, load too small and too hands on) and correttos require construction time I just havent got (get mod BM, get heat gun, get stand, setup and adjust till right).

I must admit I prefer the DIY approach as well.... the building, setting up and adjusting to get the results you want are half the fun..... not to mention being able to do 600 gm batches...

But if you want a Gene Id be sending a PM straight away and making what ever arrangements are required to secure one..... might be quite some time before others become available..... and who would want to buy one from the distributor who stabbed Serge in the back!!

Confirming that we have 2 units remaining. We will as promised supply the Gene with complimentary delivery to 2 lucky campers. 12 months parts and warranty are included.

I believe that if we stick together on this one, Serge will win out and we will have ongoing, secure supply of the Gene for CSers through his dealer network. I hear that the alternate distributor will be/has placed an initial order of 100 units from their agreed 1000 per year.

Given that CSers are the mostly likely demographic for sales, I hope they may be sitting on them for sometime yet and that we will ultimately obtain the results of their heartbreak when Genesis realises their error....

Yea its these guys. this information is in their online forum. they say they have them in stock but cannot sell them because without approval its illegal.
