Hey Jojo, thanks for your reply! Drinking more espresso isn't a bad thing and I certainly need more practice but I only go through about 500g a week and roasting double that is making for trouble! Especially when I want to split a 1kg green bag into two different roast styles.

When you roast your 320~g charge, what sort of profile do you use? Do you set your bigger charge for 200g~1/2lb? P1/2/3/4/5? Manually adjusting temp?

Increasing the charge size makes sense, however also roasting at a lower temp should also achieve a similar outcome, after all, I still have to get a bigger charge up to FC temps.

Roasting lighter in the Behmor 1600+

Hey guys, need a bit of advice on the Behmor. I got mine from Andy just after xmas this year and have already done a few KG's through it. Roasting for espresso is a no-brainer on the Behmor, however one thing I think I did well in my modded popper, but can't seem to do at all in the Behmor, was a lighter roast for manual brewing. Everything I dump from the Behmor has a roasty taste when brewed as a pour over but works ok to good as an espresso.

Case in point, I roasted today some Yirgacheffe dumerso naturals (Which when green smell like strawberry chocolate) but after trying (with a city roast in mind) an auto profile (100g, p4) and two 100g manual roasts (Last was a take on the usual P1 until 1st FC then P2 - but instead I did manual P4 until FC then P1) - I'm still left with 3 espresso roasts and nothing for my V60! My roasting confidence has taken a little bit of a hit as the only thing I can see to do next is to pull a roast prior to or mid-first crack, which wouldn't be a city roast! Going with less heat (which was the intention of all my attempts today) might just end up with baked beans instead of roasted..

Does anyone have any advice on roasting for anything other than espresso on the Behmor? I've noticed that FC is happening when the roast-wall temp is very close to the 130 mark, on my popper I had a bean-mass probe and it was usually in the 200 degree mark for at least a minute or two before FC started.
