    Hi All,

seeing helpful recommendations for my next HG for my breville coretto.

bean (get it) a roasting and a snob for a looong time, so no need for basics, just haven't bought a HG for a while.

currently looking at a makita HG6020,

    all recommendations appreciated.

I have the Bosch PHG630DCE. It's the only variable heat gun I've had, I find it a cinch to use. I roast up to 900g green and have no trouble following a roast monitor profile exactly if I have previously recorded my heat inputs and repeated them

Second the Bosch- very, very good guns. Worth the extra coin over the elcheapo options. Mine is still going strong after 3-4 years of sometimes 4-5 back to back roasts [emoji3]

The Makita you mentioned is a great HG too...

Mine hasn't missed a beat in several years of use and goodness knows how many kilos of beans roasted.
The advantage of the Makita HG6020 is that it uses closed loop control via the use of a t/couple mounted in the discharge path of the heated air. So, no matter whether the fan is set on high or low speed, the output temperature remains constant at the heat setting you've selected...

        Love mine...

        Mal.

Thanks Mal, now turns out upgradeitis applies to heat guns too

That disease seems to apply to anything I get into!

            Cheers
