They hand build the roasters in the UK. I have a direct email to contact Johan. Is gas not allowed in Australian roasters?
Absolutely allowed. The overwhelming majority of our commercial roasters are gas fired.
I'm pretty sure that what Chris is referring to is if the roasters are imported with a gas train already fitted then they would have to comply with Australian Standard specs.
Compliance testing is a lengthy, involved and costly process which may result in the need for an Australian specific model or the supply to an Australian importer without
any gas and or electric components. The importer would then fit the necessary components here, to meet Australian standards. Either way would add AUD$$$ to the retail price.
Ahh, regulations...
But speaking of price, the price in Denmark was about 2200 australian $. Thats pretty good!
Yes, but if that's just a straight currency exchange value it won't take into account shipping, import duty, compliance costs and whatever other costs are involved.
That price was including shipping og the duty/taxes within EU countries. Not sure about the rules from UK to Australia, but is there some sort of commonwealth tax/duty?
