    I have my 2KG roaster at the rear of my garage with the flue going out of a window. When roasting I open front and rear roller doors to create air movement to remove any smoke when dumping batches into the cooling tray.

    Tannyboy, I think ventilation is your biggest issue. If you can get adequate ventilation into the garage all is good. There is some concern about the exhaust gases. I roast similar to your present setup, I have a 1kg home made setup which is on a bbq stand/trolley and wheel it out to an undercover open area to roast.

    Where do you roast?

    Hey all, wasn't exactly sure where to put this but its now been on my mind for a little while. Roasting spaces and where do all you fine people roast.

    Currently i roast on a HotTop and it basically lives inside but I drag it out to the garage or outside under the lastolite alfresco area of the house.

    I'm in early stages of investigating a larger machine (1-2 kgs) to roast on and figuring that it would probably need a more permanent space. I've somewhat got the okay from the treasurer of the house to convert the garage into a bit more of a roasting/multipurpose space rather than a Car Hold.

    So in short, love to know where you roast?
    If at Home. Is it in the garage? Shed? Custom built setups?

    And if you could share any pictures of setups for inspiration - that would be great too.
    If its a bit more bigger than that, if its a little warehouse or something else i'd be curious to see that too!
