  • Behmor 1600 Exhaust Pipe mod

I wanted a way of exhausting the smoke straight out of my workshop ( 'roastery' ) window, without relying on the air outside to 'pull' it out, or another fan to blow from on the bench.

So asked my fabrication buddy to knock me up this little canon.

    Very happy with result.

Does the job perfectly, and I just slide the whole roaster inwards 3 inches when i'm done, so I can close the window.

    cheers,
    Rod

I suspect the answer is "I don't" but I would be curious to know if you notice increased draft due to the stack effect caused by effectively adding a chimney.

I had the same thought and possibly once it got hot it would draw even more air from the roast chamber and would make the roast times longer, then I had the thought that it might have the opposite effect if it restricts the exhaust channel fan and would make roasts faster then I decided I was confused and it probably made bugger-all difference to the roasting times.

Lovely bit of problem solving and engineering Rod, the square to round is very pretty too.

Just imagine what a servo actuated
Variable tuned length exhaust might do ?
                Hoey Vey the mind bogges
